Caffeine stimulates the pituitary to release adrenal hormones and cortisol. These hormones can actually interfere with fitness goals, because when these hormones are constantly present, they interfere with digestion and fat burning. They mobilize the body for "fight or flight" which means that things like digestion, which can be put off for later, are. Of course, when you are constantly taking in caffeine, good thorough digestion constantly gets put off, and in many people that means more fat is stored and it is harder to burn off.
The jitteriness caused by caffeine causes some people to be more active, resulting in moderate weight loss, but large amounts of caffeine over time weaken many of the body's systems and often lead to dehydration.
Caffeine does not stimulate the production of HGH.
