I find myself brushing my teeth three, sometimes four times daily. But yet I still have occasional bad breath. Why is this? What can i do to stop it?

While brushing your will prevent cavities, it will only mask your bad breath. The problem actually comes from your throat and tongue, not your teeth. When the bacteria in your mouth begins to lack oxygen, they start to release the smelly sulfur compounds, much like smelly feet. The solution? Keep your mouth oxygenated by drinking water. Also, use a mouth wash with chlorine dioxide in both the morning and at night.

Mouthwash that kills bacteria is very beneficial. Bad breath can also come from the foods you eat. Some foods, like garlic, release compounds into your bloodstream that can cause bad breath for hours, no matter what you try. If you eliminate these foods from your diet and use mouthwash and you still have a problem, you should see a doctor because certain diseases can cause incurable bad breath, and you would want to be on the safe side.
