We all want to lose weight to improve our health and to slow down signs of aging. Most of us are on this forum to learn about supplements that will help us with weight loss, improving muscle tone, and anti-aging. Well, the usual advice of "you can eat all the fruits and vegetables you want" may not be true for those of us who need to drop a few pounds.
Fruits are high in sugar. Of course this is natural sugar, but we all know what too much sugar of any kind can do: blood sugar highs that come crashing down make you tired, cranky, and hungry. This can tempt you to binge on unhealthy carbs, or skip your workout from exhaustion.
Fruits and berries are best eaten in moderation, accompanied by protein to stabilize blood sugar. Of course, if you're craving something sweet, a handful of berries still beats a candy bar any day!
So: relying too heavily on fruit may not be a good thing when trying to lose weight!
