According to Wikipedia, deep sleep, fasting, and intense exercise prompt the body to produce more HGH.
While fasting is not usually recommended for weight loss, it looks like if you have the discipline to fast once in awhile, it will help your body produce more of its own HGH, which helps with weight loss and lean muscle maintenance.
It's not news that getting a good night's sleep is linked to weight loss, but I didn't realize that it might be because insomniacs aren't producing as much HGH!
Also, high blood sugar inhibits the production of HGH.
So I guess it comes back to the same old advice: eat less junk, get more (and better sleep) and exercise! Easier said than done for most of us, of course.
