There are few of us that wouldn’t love to have a lean belly. In fact, many of one had that flat belly but it seems as the years have gone by, it has disappeared. Let’s look at the secret to a lean belly. Well, actually there’s more than one thing you need to do, so let’s have a look.
#1 Snack Before the Party
If you are going to be going out to a party or a get together, you can avoid the risk of high calorie buffets or snacks by having a healthy snack before you go. You can also eat as much as 20% less just by spacing your food out on your plate.
#2 Protein With Every Meal
Every meal should include protein. Your stomach needs to work twice as hard to digest so your body will burn more calories. You’ll also feel full for longer and so you’ll crave less food.
#3 Get Rid of the Soda
Americans take in on average around 450 additional calories a day from beverages that are sweetened that includes soda, diet soda, juices etc. These calories go straight to the waist.
#4 Food Substitutes
If you want a lean belly these are food substitutes you should make.
- Baked Cheese – Take your favorite cheese and slice it onto a baking sheet. Put in the oven for 5-6 minutes (or until lightly brown) at 350°F – they crunch like chips.
- Romaine Lettuce – take a leaf of romaine lettuce and use it as your bread. You can put whatever you want in it. Tuna, turkey, veggies, etc.
- Tuna – Substitute tuna with a little mayonnaise on your salad rather than bottled dressing. It’s low in calories and high in protein.
- Big Salad – Load up your salad with chicken, turkey, and ham and they’ll be more meat on it than a sandwich plus you get all the veggies. Add a little oil and vinegar.
- Flaxseed – Put 2 teaspoons on cooked chicken breast or salmon for added flavor and excellent fiber source.
- Melons – Honeydew and cantaloupe will slow the digestion of carbs and they will help reduce your cravings for bread. The sweetness of them also makes them a good substitute for sweets.
#5 Make Friends with Whole Fruits
Replace the fruit juice you drink with whole fruits. Fruit juice tends to be mostly sugar whereas with the whole fruit you get the fiber and far less calories. Increase your berry intake as these are packed with antioxidants to help keep cancer at bay and to improve your mental sharpness. All this sugar leads to belly fat.
#6 Grain it Up
One of the easiest ways to improve your waistline and health is to replace those refined grains with whole grains. Make sure you read the ingredients to make sure that you are actually getting whole grains and not just questionable labeling.
#7 Go Crazy for Nuts
Nuts are not to be feared nor is peanut butter because these foods are nutrient dense. When you eat them in moderation they will curb your hunger.
#8 Add an HGH Supplement
A quality HGH supplement can help reduce fat, especially belly fat, and increase lean muscle. It speeds up the metabolism and gives you more energy. To find out more about the benefits of HGH supplements go here.
I try to work out regularly and eat well, and for sure I do better than the vast majority of people but I still pack a few extra pounds. I was reading this post and realized the cause may be the amount of soda I drink. I do not drink much beer as all and hate energy drinks, but soda I drink constantly. Thanks for making the obvious, so obvious!
I have noticed that by cutting soda out of my diet I was able to lose more weight without even trying. I will start adding tuna to my salads for that extra boost of protein.
