10 Things You Can do to Get Fit

You’ve decided to get fit – good for you! But if we’re being honest, most of us land up here at one time or another and many times, we aren’t successful for a number of reasons. Let’s change that! Here are 10 things you can do to get fit.woman measuring waist

  1. Get Enough Protein – Bodybuilders recommend 1 gram of protein/pound of body weight. Nutritionists recommend 1 gram of protein/kilogram of body weight. If you eat a traditional American diet with meat, you should get enough protein. If you are vegetarian, you will need to get your protein from other sources.
  2. Lift Heavy – If you do just tons of cardio, you will lose fat and muscle. However, if you lift weights you will force your body to retain the muscle. Start with lightweight and work your way up.
  3. Body Fat Not Body Weight – Focus on your fat not your weight. Sure, it’s nice to monitor your weight, but muscle weighs more than fat and so you may see the numbers on the scale going up yet you could be losing weight. Instead, grab a tape measure and take your body measurements. This is a way better way to monitor results.
  4. When You Are Hungry Eat, When You are Full Stop – Sounds basic right, but that’s not always the case. Most of us are not in tune with our bodies and therefore we eat when it is time to eat not when we are actually hungry. In addition, we eat everything on our plate rather than stopping when we are full. It’s important to listen to your body and then you can be leaner.
  5. Run on a Calorie DeficitUnless your body is running on a calorie deficit, you can’t tap into your fat reserves. You have to be burning more than you are eating. Your body is always burning fat, however if you are eat a ton of food and your body doesn’t need the calories then it will store it as fat. Figure out how many calories you burn a day and then remove 500 calories from your daily intake to create a calorie deficit.
  6. Take an HGH Supplement – An HGH supplement has many benefits it can offer, but one of the most talked about is its ability to help you lose fat and gain lean muscle mass. HGH supplements do not contain HGH, but rather they contain natural ingredients that help your body to produce more HGH.
  7. Drink Lots of Water The main fluid in your diet should be water. It’s the one fluid that has zero calories. If you don’t like water, you can add a little bit of lime or lemon.
  8. Eat Plenty of Fruits and Veggies – If there is any one single dietary change you can make to become leaner and fitter, it’s eating more fruits and veggies. They are packed with fiber and vitamins and minerals, and you can burn these calories quickly.
  9. Increase Your Workout Intensity – A great deal of recent research has shown that a shorter higher intensity workout can be more effective than a longer less intense workout. In addition, no matter what exercises you are doing you should always increase the intensity every week or so to maximize the benefits.
  10. Rest! – Don’t underestimate the power of exercise. It’s as important as the exercise itself. Rest is when your body is able to heal and repair and that creates lean muscle mass. If you don’t rest properly, your body is much more likely to burn out and even be injured.

  1. Lifting heavy is the best piece of advice; not only will it make you stronger, but the added muscle will help you burn more fat in less time.

  2. Protein, heavy weights and a good hgh supplement is the key. It works for me and I feel the best I ever have at 45! All you have to do to get started is just that, get started. Keeping at it will come naturally.

  3. I would like to learn more about the hgh supplements that you mentioned in the post. They aren’t hgh, but they make the body create more hgh? How does that work and are they very effective at helping us stay fit and youthful?

  4. With all the controversy behind the HGH supplements, I don’t know if it’s worth taking anything like this. Is it bad? It is worth that risk of getting in trouble, especially for athletes?

  5. My goal for 2016 is to lose weight and stay fit. Maybe lose 10 pounds. I just have to watch that calorie intake and work out a little every day. It’s crazy to think about, but I think it’ll do me some good. xo
