A stroll into a vitamin or supplement store can leave you overwhelmed. There are so many products on the market today touting anti aging properties, it is difficult to know which supplements will actually have any impact at all. Some may do nothing, while some may actually negatively affect your health, and all of them will cost money that you cannot afford to spend on products that do not work. There are some supplements that have been found to help prevent age related disease and increase energy to help you maintain an active, healthy lifestyle.
B Vitamins
The family of B vitamins have been proven time and again to be a veritable powerhouse against age related illness and disease. They prevent brain shrinkage that can lead to memory loss and dementia. They are also important for the maintenance of a healthy nervous system and adrenal glands. Taking Vitamin B6 and B12 supplements can help reduce the risk of contracting age related macular degeneration, and these vitamins are vital to breaking down carbs to create energy, helping you remain more active in your later years.
Fish Oil Supplements
Fish oil supplements are important anti aging supplements, especially if you are not a fan of fish. The Omega 3 fatty acids found in oily fish have a profound impact on heart health, and they effectively decrease inflammation that is related to the development of some cancers, Alzheimer’s disease, and some heart issues. These fatty acids are also found in walnuts and flaxseed.
Vitamin E
When looking for anti aging products, you are likely looking for ways to look younger as well as feeling younger. Vitamin E supplements are rife with antioxidants that are instrumental in keeping your skin looking smooth, supple, and healthy. Vitamin E fights the free radicals in your system that attack and break down cells, leading to dull skin, wrinkles, and changes in pigment. In addition, the antioxidants in this potent anti aging supplement help prevent the formation of free radicals and repairs cell damage after it has been done.
Ginkgo Biloba
As is the case with so many other supplements, antioxidants are the key in the anti aging of Ginkgo Biloba. The leaves of the Ginkgo tree contain two very powerful antioxidants: turpenoids and flavanoids. These two natural supplements increase blood flow to the brain, preventing age related memory loss. They also improve blood flow to the rest of the body, aiding in the prevention of circulation issues, particularly in the legs. This is a great natural anti aging supplement that will help you look and feel younger.
Calcium
Important for repair and maintenance of bone density and the health of your teeth, calcium is a very important mineral. As you age, it becomes increasingly vital to keep your bones healthy. There are issues, especially for women, in getting enough calcium; a calcium supplement can be instrumental in preventing injuries, improving your posture, and keeping you healthy. This is a vital anti aging supplement for you entire body.
CoQ 10
Coenzyme 10 is actually an enzyme produced by the body in the liver, heart, brain, and kidneys. It is found in decreasing supply in the body as you grow older, and at some point as you age or if you are very sick, it disappears altogether. Supplements can replicate the positive effects of this important enzyme, which is instrumental in cellular energy development. As an anti aging supplement, CoQ 10 safely increases your energy levels, helping you remain active and maintain a healthy weight. It is no available in any food, so if your body stops producing this substance, it can only be replaced in a supplement.
Hey, nice list! This will help me out quite a bit. I also heard that Co enzyme Q 10 is really important for preventing and treating cellulite, so maybe that will help out your other female readers.
Is there an anti-aging supplement that carries all these vitamins? It would feel like hitting the jackpot to find all these important nutrients in just one product. If there is, I’d love to get one for myself. I am a living proof that aging is not so kind to one’s health.
Since I hit 50, I started feeling (and looking) old, so to speak. There are a lot of things that I’d like to do but can’t. I’ve tried looking at anti-aging supplements but I think I need more information regarding safety of using the before I even get to buy. I’m finding it difficult to cope but I’m also afraid that going through medication therapies like those that they say are revolutionary innovations in medicine can make me feel worse.
What I’m trying to do now is to switch on a healthier, less stressful lifestyle. But I guess, since I started late, it will take a longer period of time for my body to recuperate and show any difference. I’m not as consumed with the age lines all over my face. I’m more concerned of how my memory is declining over the last couple of years. I can also feel that decreased body strength, making it impossible for me to keep up with my grandchildren’s energy.
this is a great list! i’d lyk to find a supplement that will carry all these vitamins and minerals to keep me healthy, young-looking and active. it pains me to find out that aging can slow down my life a bit as I have been living an active life all along. if ethere s anything i like to retain, that’s my musclew and bone strength so I can still do everything that I love from sports to swimming to gardening and lots of other activities. i hope a lot of others like me will find this helpful article
