Celebrity Tips for Looking Younger
We learn to love and hate our favorite celebrities. Women like Kim Bassinger and Susan Sarandon are beautiful with soft, supple skin and they are as old or older than we are. Of course, they have personal trainers, nutritionists, and expensive cosmetics and products at their fingertips. There are, however, a few great tips we can learn from Hollywood today about using cosmetics to help us look younger.
Exfoliate
It seems like such a simple step that it is almost beneath the lofty cares of a Hollywood celebrity to worry about. However, this easy step can make a world of difference in your makeup application, as well as giving your skin a warm youthful glow. You will read about these stars and their “chemical peels.” You do not have to use this expensive version of exfoliating. Find a gentle exfoliator at your local cosmetic counter and use at least three times per week. You will see a difference quickly because your makeup will go on much more smoothly without the dry skin making your face rough and your makeup look uneven and gloppy.
Removing dry skin cells is also important because those cells collect over time, and eventually weigh on the skin, causing sagging of the skin, a loss of elasticity, and even wrinkles. Follow your exfoliator with a lightweight, non greasy moisturizer; this will condition the newly exposed young skin cells and this constant circle will result in beautiful, younger-looking skin.
Use Retinols
Retinoid creams are very popular among stars and starlets across Hollywood. Dermatologists agree that these creams are extremely effective not only in stopping the signs of aging, but actually in reversing the aging effects altogether. Used correctly, this could be the most important product in your cosmetic arsenal. They are available by prescription, so you will have to see your dermatologist to in order to start a regime of using one of these creams.
Whiten Your Teeth
Over time, the foods we eat and the beverages we drink can yellow our teeth. Even if you take avidly good care of your your teeth, they are going to accumulate stains over time. Celebrities use tooth whiteners to keep their smiles attractive and young looking. This, in turn makes them look years younger than they really are.
Switch to Cream Blush
Makeup artists advise their celebrity clients to switch from powder to cream blush as they grow older. One of the primary culprits in the aging process is dry skin, and powder blushes can absorb a great deal of that coveted moisture. They also clump and settle into your lines and creases, emphasizing them rather than distracting the eye away from them. Cream blushes, on the other hand, go on smoothly and stay even throughout the day. In fact, cream blushes can even be effective in “plumping” up the skin cells beneath it.
Drink Lots and Lots of Water
It is not a myth. Our bodies need water, and so does our skin. Strive for 8 glasses each day; this will help to hydrate your skin from the inside out.
